Course 5315: Assessing Digital Learning and Instruction
What is Working:
- Comprehensive Research: I have undertaken a detailed investigation into the Blended Learning Station Rotation Model, focusing on its impact on third-grade math achievement. This includes a thorough literature review and an action research plan that incorporates both qualitative and quantitative data. The mixed-methods approach used in the study ensures a robust analysis of how this model supports diverse student needs.
- Active Participation: My involvement in course activities has been proactive. I have engaged with all required readings, videos, and resources, meeting deadlines consistently and contributing meaningfully to course discussions.
- Effective Collaboration: I have collaborated effectively with my classmates, contributing to discussions and providing feedback that has helped build a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Specific collaborations with peers, such as María Santiago, Luz Uribe, and Illeana Cabrera have been particularly impactful.
Areas for Improvement:
- Feedback Integration: While I have actively participated and provided feedback, I can improve by integrating more feedback into my research and assignments, ensuring that all suggestions are fully considered and reflected in the final output.
- Depth of Reflection: Although I have made significant progress in developing the action research plan, I have yet to complete a thorough reflection on its implementation. Once the action research is fully executed next year, a deeper analysis of how the Blended Learning Station Rotation Model influences student outcomes will be essential. This will further enhance the overall impact and effectiveness of the research.
Course 5320: Synthesis of Digital Learning and Leadership
What is Working:
- Innovation Plan Implementation: The development and implementation of the “Interactive Learning Pods” Innovation Plan have been a focal point of my work. This initiative aligns well with the COVA approach, emphasizing choice, ownership, and voice in student learning. The project’s progress, including the creation of an online Math Hybrid Course and an article on blended learning, highlights my commitment to advancing educational practices.
- Professional Growth: The reflection on my ADL journey has been comprehensive, detailing significant achievements, challenges, and insights gained throughout the program. This synthesis demonstrates a clear understanding of how these experiences contribute to my professional development.
- Collaboration and Feedback: Engaging with colleagues and receiving feedback has been integral to refining my Innovation Plan. Collaboration with peers such as María Santiago, Luz Uribe, and Illeana Cabrera has enhanced my learning and contributed to the overall success of the project.
Areas for Improvement:
- Further Integration of Ideas: While the reflections connect well with the COVA approach, there is room for deeper integration of ideas from both courses to enhance the overall synthesis. A more explicit connection between the Blended Learning Station Rotation Model and the “Interactive Learning Pods” Innovation Plan could provide a more cohesive understanding of how these elements interrelate.
- Enhanced ePortfolio Development: While progress on the ePortfolio is underway, further refinement of its structure and expansion of the content to include additional information and reflections could strengthen the overall presentation and effectiveness of the professional showcase.
In summary, I believe a score of 93/100 accurately reflects my contributions to both courses. My work demonstrates a strong commitment to the learning objectives, active participation, and meaningful collaboration. However, there are areas where further improvement could enhance the overall effectiveness and integration of my efforts.
